Oops I made Lembas. Or maybe it's more like cram. Anyway, don't use pastry flour to make bread, it doesn't work.
yuck.

Now, again, I never say this about shows I work on, but
CHAMBER MACBETH AT SEATTLE SHAKESPEARE COMPANY IS WAY FABULOUS!!!
See it now. See it later. It's only 90 minutes of your life, but OH what an hour and a half! Oh yeah, and Jephly needs a date again.
If for no other reason, see it for the extravagantly muscled men in sleeveless shirts. hubba!

It was so beautiful here on Saturday! Hope you all got outside for a bit.
And now... I am pimping out my boyfriend. He needs a date for Saturday, March 3rd, to see A Tale of Two Cities. This is not your familiar comatose Dickens experience. Please take my boyfriend out.
Speaking of that show... all the men in the cast appear to be flirting with me. I'm sure this is just a theater thing: men flirt with all the girls. Girls flirt with all the girls. However, it's new to me to be able to exchange wit and smiles with the SUPER cute male lead. I guess surly bicycle chicks turn them on.
That last comment had nothing to do with pimping out my boyfriend. Really.

I never say this about shows I work on, so please understand the sincerity of the statement.
You MUST see A Tale of Two Cities at Book-it Repertory Theatre.
It's a hell of a show. A very solid ensemble performance. The best part: local textile artist Mandy Greer did all the blood and gore. The worst part: the lighting. But no one ever pays attention to the lighting anyway. Just me.
I mean it. See my show. Wed-Sun thru March 4th at the Seattle Center House Theater (100 yards to the left of the Space Needle). Student matinees for all you high schoolers out there. ROCK!

Why, Google, why?
Why did you tempt me with promises of a totally free, multi-user, collaborative spreadsheet that I could access from anywhere? You teased me and then snatched it all away with your damn 100 line limit. Thank you for hurting me.
I had visions of running through the grass- so happy to be free from the endless cycle of emailing a document to myself, editing and returning it- hand in hand with you, Google. But you were inattentive to my needs. You broke my heart, and I may never heal.
I hope you are happy in your choice. Your choice to betray me.
Love always, wherever you are. lightlinn

It allows you to say, without reservation, I'm awesome.
So it's my birthday on Tuesday and it being a school night and all I was hoping to have a birthday party next Friday or Saturday. If you live here, which night do you prefer? I'm leaning towards Saturday because the place I want to have it is less busy on Saturday nights. I could always have two parties... one costume party on Friday and one drinkin' party on Saturday. Who's in?
No, I will not do a shot with you.
Especially if it's Jager.
ps. sidenote- I was talking to this one older Polish guy in a bar this one time, and he said that, in Europe, Jagermeister is cough medicine. So all those frat boys lining up at the bar to display extra maladjusted bravado are essentially downing Triaminic. Gross.

So it turns out that I won all these awards and nobody told me. Well, okay, not me... shows that I worked on.
Please note that I was the lighting designer for two of the "Best of the fringe" shows and one of the "Best new plays". You may be able to discern which productions I subtly speak of. I guess I know what I'm doing, after all.
Seattle Times Footlight Awards 2005 -Best of the fringe: Waiting for Lefty (Capitol Hill Arts Center) !!!Back of the Throat (Theater Schmeater)!!! !!!The Memory of Water (Atlas Theatre)!!! -Best new plays (who cares if it's a repeat-- I WON!!!): !!!Back of the Throat by Yussef El Guindi (Theater Schmeater)!!! -Solo shows to celebrate: The Ugly American by Mike Daisey (ACT Theatre) -Local treasure: Book-It Repertory Theatre.
This rocks.

Has anyone else noticed that the lighting in the white house library is now infinitely more theatrical than it was during the clinton administration?
It's all accented and shafty.
Is that because we're getting shafted?

This year I will be kinder to my minions. Perhaps I will even feed them.
And also, I will wear more skirts.
What are your new year's resolutions?

Why is it that snuggly sounding rain on the roof always stops right at bed time? Where do the snuggly sounds go?!?!
Oh wait, it's back...

Am I the only person who still likes christmas? Seems like it's the *in* thing to hate it. Guess I'm missing a trend here. But really, it's FUN! You get to decorate with vibrant and sparkely schlock. You have an excuse to bake new kinds of cookies. Family get-togethers provide ample guilt-free boozin' time. AND you get a TREE in your living room... how cool is that! So let it go, trendsters! The holidays are awesome.
so... what do you want for christmas?
